As the year draws to a close, we’ll be finishing up for the holidays today, Friday 19th December at 3pm, and returning on Tuesday 6th January 2026.
Before we do, we wanted to pause — just for a moment — and reflect on what has been a year full of extremes, effort, memories, and meaning.
2025 gave us what was probably one of the best early springs we’ve ever seen. Colonies built quickly, bees were flying earlier than expected, and for a while it felt like the season might just be too good to be true. And, as always, it was. Months of relentless sunshine eventually dried everything out, slowing colony progression, reducing honey yields, and ushering in an army of wasps after early queen establishment in spring. But then again, if beekeepers didn’t complain, we wouldn’t know what to talk about.
Like every year, we’ve pushed hard. Grafted more than we probably should have, stretched ourselves thin, and worked right up to the point of exhaustion, because that’s what happens when you care deeply about what you do.
But this year wasn’t just about bees and business.
We’re incredibly thankful for the memories made, both within the business and outside of it. For the people we’ve met, the laughs shared, the challenges overcome, and the support shown by customers, friends, and fellow beekeepers. We’ve also taken time to reflect on those we’ve lost this year, people who shaped us, supported us, and remain part of our story even though they’re no longer with us.
Now, it’s time to step back. To take our well-deserved two-week break, which is pretty much the only time all year we truly switch off. Time to rest, reset, and most importantly, spend quality time with family and loved ones, something that often takes a back seat during the season.
Thank you to everyone who has supported BS Honey Bees this year. It genuinely means more than we can put into words.
We’ll see you all in 2026 — rested, recharged, and ready to do it all again.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year,
Daniel & Tristan
